Villa Thalia is one of the uniquely designed Muses Villas. Thalia, one of the nine muses and the beautiful daughter of Zeus, the King of the Gods, and Mnemosyne, the titan goddess of memory, is the source of inspiration for this enchanting villa. Mediterranean in style and in an elevated location in Kiziltas, all the Muses Villas offer sea views and are only a 10 to 15 minute walk downhill to the centre of Kalkan.
Villa Thalia is below Villa Euterpe and is accessed up about 20 stone steps from the road below.
Once through the gate, you enter a beautiful courtyard with a central mosaic Jacuzzi, day bed and a built-in cushioned sofa as well as an armchair and side tables to make the most of this space.
The accommodation is laid out as follows:
Ground Floor:
The main glass entrance door leads into a hallway with wooden steps up to the first floor. To the right is the kitchen which is well equipped with an island that has a gas hob with extractor fan and an electric oven as well as an integral wooden breakfast table with 5 chairs. By the twin sinks is a sandwich toaster, kettle, dishwasher and large fridge freezer and on the other side, a cupboard with a water cooler and microwave.
As you walk round to the front of the villa there is a floating wall with a fireplace, plus a Smart TV and a chaise longue. There is also a cushioned built-in sofa set around a glass coffee table plus armchairs and wooden side tables. Glass doors on either side of the living room provide access either to the courtyard or to the pool terrace.
On the other side of the hallway are two double bedrooms with interconnecting doors, so access can either be through the first bedroom or though glass doors onto the courtyard. There are two doors that can be locked between these bedrooms if desired; each bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC and basin and within the bedrooms themselves, open wardrobes with a chest of drawers below and a dressing table with a mirror.
Also off the courtyard is a twin bedroom that can be made into a double on request. This bedroom also has an en-suite shower room with WC and basin and within the bedroom itself, an open wardrobe with a chest of drawers below and a dressing table with mirror.
Adjacent to the twin room and also off the courtyard, is another glass door which leads to the cinema room via a series of arches. This has a wall mounted Smart TV plus two sofas and 4 covered stools. In addition, there is a sauna and a separate shower room as well as a washing machine in the cupboard for guests’ use.
First floor:
This floor has two further bedrooms beneath high beamed eaves. The first of these bedrooms is at the front of the villa and has a four poster double bed with a huge floor to ceiling window providing fabulous views of Kalkan Bay and the islands. Within the room by the window on a raised tiled platform is a free-standing bathtub and next to it, a cushioned built-in bench from which to enjoy the views. A dressing table with mirror is also provided and open wardrobes in a dressing area lead to the en-suite shower room with WC and basin. Glass doors lead to the wrap around terrace that can also be accessed from stone steps from the courtyard below.
On the terrace is a built-in bar with a sink and a comfortable sofa with two armchairs plus ornate metal and wooden side tables - the perfect vantage point to take in the panoramic views of Kalkan Bay to the islands.
The second bedroom on this level is at the rear of the villa. This is a double and has glass doors out to the elevated terrace. Within the room is an open wardrobe with a chest of drawers and a dressing table with mirror as well as an en-suite shower room with a WC and basin.
Outside the villa:
The infinity pool is semi-circular with steps for entry via the arches off the terrace and cascades into a shallow pool below with sun loungers submerged in the water.
On the covered terrace is a dining table that comfortably seats 10 people, plus a portable BBQ to enable your party to enjoy al fresco dining. In addition, there’s a sofa and chairs spaced around an ottoman table with wooden stacked stools.
Steps from the pool terrace lead down to a grassed area with stepping stones. This is furnished with a semi-circular built-in cushioned sofa and a coffee table – another ideal spot in which to relax and enjoy the views across the town towards the sea.
In an alcove off the pool terrace is an external shower for guests’ use.
