Car Rental Information

Driving licence and age

Drivers must be a minimum age of 21 years old (23 for Jeep hire) and produce a full, valid British or EU driving licence held for at least 1 year. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence. Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable. Please note that if you have a photo card driving licence you will need to read the notes below concerning recent changes to the UK driving licence (as of 8th June 2015).

Unlimited mileage

The rental price includes unlimited mileage for the period of hire.

What’s included?

Unlimited mileage, full insurance (includes cover for damage to windscreens) and all local taxes are included.

What's excluded?

Fuel is excluded and damage to tyres, lights and the underside of the vehicle.

Additional drivers

A second driver can be added at no additional cost. A full UK or EU driving licence is required for each driver.

Delivery and Collection

Vehicles can be collected from and returned to Dalaman airport. This is a 24 hour service and is available at no extra charge. For cars delivered to and collected from Dalaman airport, a minimum of 7 days hire applies. Vehicles can also be delivered to and collected from your rental accommodation in Kalkan on a date and duration of your choice.

Delayed Return

Rental periods are calculated on a 24 hour basis. If the vehicle is returned after the agreed return time, 1/3 of the daily rental rate is charged for every excess hour. If the delay exceeds 3 hours, the full day rental rate is charged.

Traffic Fines

Legal responsibilities resulting from traffic violations incurred during the rental period are charged to the renter. The speed limit is 50km (30 miles) per hour in built up areas and rises to 90km (56 miles) per hour on motorways and open roads. Speeding drivers will be fined on the spot. If you are fined you will be issued with a ticket, this should be taken to the car hire company along with your payment.

Child Seats

Car seats are available by request for babies and young children at no extra charge. Please specify the ages of any children so we can arrange for an age appropriate child seat to be supplied.

Number of passengers

Our rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers. In the interest of safety this number must not be exceeded and if exceeded, the insurance will be invalidated. We cannot accept responsibility if the vehicle is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival.

Car Type/Suitability

A particular make, model or fuel type of car cannot be guaranteed. The pictures displayed on our website are for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative, similar vehicle.

Legal Requirements

If you are unfortunate enough to have an accident, or if your car is damaged in any way, it is necessary to call the Police to the scene before moving the vehicle as the insurance is void without a Police report. You must also contact our local car rental partner immediately, and take a photograph (if possible), before doing anything else.

You will need to carry your passport and drivers' licence along with the vehicle documentation and licence (normally found in the glove compartment or driver’s visor). The Jandarma (Traffic Police) stop cars as a matter of routine and if you are stopped, you will be expected to produce this documentation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Recent Changes for UK Driver's Licence Holders

From 8th June 2015, the paper counterpart of the UK driver’s licence will be abolished by the DVLA and details of any driving restrictions and penalties will be stored electronically.

If you are planning to hire a car abroad, you're required to to grant the car hire company access to your stored data through a simple two-step procedure on the DVLA’s ‘Share Driving Licence’ portal. The new procedure is quick and easy to follow (instructions below), generating a synopsis of your licence and a unique eight digit check code for your rental company to use.

This procedure must be completed no more than three days before each rental period.

Website to visit: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Instructions:
Click on ‘view now’.
Enter your driving licence number, National Insurance number and your postcode.
Click on share your licence information.
A unique, one-time code will be generated. This code will need to be provided to the car rental company along with your photocard licence.
You can also save and download the summary of your driving licence produced. This document can be saved on your smartphone for ease of access.
Repeat the above process for all drivers.

Important: If you do not have a driving licence with a photocard, you do not need to follow this procedure.

Whilst our car rental partners have confirmed that they will not require the check code, we feel that it is important for all drivers to complete this procedure for peace of mind. We cannot be held responsible in the event that you're denied access to your hire car if you fail to produce this information if requested by the hire company.
