Passports + Visa Requirements
Your passport should be valid for at least six months on entry into Turkey and have at least three months validity from the date you plan to exit Turkey.
All UK residents will need to purchase a tourist Visa on arrival into Turkey. You will need to have a £10 note ready for each Visa purchased (including babies and children)! Scottish notes are not accepted. Your Visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue. At present you are able to make return visits to Turkey without purchasing another Visa if your return visit is within the 90 day period, however, you are not permitted to stay in Turkey for longer than 90 days in any one 180 day period. A Visa sticker will be issued and this will be placed in your passport and stamped with your date of entry. When you go through passport control on your return journey, the Visa will be stamped with your date of exit.
Residents from other countries will need to check their individual Visa requirements.
PLEASE NOTE - from 31 December 2012 all foreign (including British) passport holders will be refused entry to Turkey if their passport does not have a blank page for the Visa sticker and entry/exit stamps.
Healthcare
Health care in Turkey is not covered under the E111 as in the European Union and private health cover is necessary. However the standard of private care in the area is excellent and generally significantly cheaper than European private hospitals.
It is therefore very important that you have adequate insurance cover in place before travelling and this can be arranged very quickly and cheaply by clicking here.
