We are delighted to introduce ‘Fransola House’ for the forthcoming season. This charming and characterful house could not be more conveniently located, just set back from Kalkan’s town beach and very close to many popular restaurants and cafes. The renowned Fish Terrace, Korsan Meze and KoCo café-bar are just next door and Kalkan harbour, with its array of quality restaurants, is just a couple of minutes’ walk away.
Fransola House was built circa 80 years ago by a local stonemason and has been handed down to the present owner by her Grandmother and Grandfather. It takes its name from the vibrant white, pink and apricot Bougainvillea flowers that crown the house - these were known as 'Fransola' in the Lycia region of Turkey in ancient times. The house itself is very traditional in style and will appeal to those who are looking for an authentically Turkish property. Shuttered windows and a mixture of wooden and tiled flooring feature throughout the house and despite the traditional appearances, the property is also equipped with essential ‘mod-cons’, such as WiFi and air-conditioning!
The house is entered at the side of the property via a flight of steps. The tiled entrance hall is furnished with a sofa and armchair and a kitchenette can also be found on this level with marble counter-top with sink, fridge-freezer, wooden sofa and chairs and a fireplace.
This level has 4 double bedrooms; one of these can be configured as a twin if preferred. Each of these bedrooms has an en-suite shower room (the bedroom that can be configured as a twin or a double has a Jacuzzi bathtub with overhead shower).
A wooden flight of stairs brings you to an attractive hallway with built-in cupboards – off the hallway is a spacious living and dining area. This has a wall-mounted TV and a large fireplace.
The kitchen is also located off the hallway – this is well stocked with crockery, cookeware and glassware and is furnished with a range of traditional wooden cupboards, a small central round table, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, gas hob, microwave and water-cooler.
A bedroom with a large single bed is located on this floor. This bedroom has a Hamam-style shower room.
Outside the villa:
The house has a large terracotta-tiled terrace that’s accessed from the upper level of the property.
This has a built in BBQ and beautiful sea and harbour views, together with a large glass-topped dining table beneath a Bougainvillea arbour.
Two sofas, two armchairs and a coffee table are also provided on the terrace to enable you to relax with a coffee or a glass of wine whilst taking in the views.
Points to note:
Prices are per villa per week. Maxiumum number of guests = 9
